Commonwealth Secretary of Commerce and Trade, Maurice Jones, briefed the Hampton Roads Chambers Executive Committee on June 11. Prior to this position, Jones was Publisher of The Virginian-Pilot and 2012 Chair of the Hampton Roads Chamber. In 2012 and 2013, he served as Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Jones provided an informative snapshot of the economy, on the state and local level, and provided an opportunity for the Chamber's volunteer leadership to dialogue on economic issues important to the region.

This free event is open to those who wish to learn more about becoming Girl Scouts. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour A Place for Girls, The Lodge, and The Outback, a nine-acre nature area. Guests will meet staff members, learn about programs and summer camp opportunities, network with volunteers and learn about the Girl Scout mission. There will also be craft activities for kids, and guests can enjoy 10 percent off purchases in the Girl Scout shop.
