More than 100 business men and women attended the Hampton Roads Chamber’s Mingle at TowneBank event at TowneBank’s very own Member Service Center on September 10th. Local businesses enjoyed the outdoor skies as they gathered under their pavilion that overlooked a beautiful lake.
The event was open to the public and attendees enjoyed mingling with vendors, members, and community leaders making great business connections and enjoying each other’s company in the process.
Attendees also indulged in sweet treats, beverages, and enjoyed live music from a local band, Pretty Ugly. Leila Rice from Elizabeth River Tunnels said, “This is a great opportunity to reach people who need to learn information about our projects! It’s wonderful they’re always open to learning new things.”
Small business owner Eddie Gaskin of Just Grilling has been to a Chamber mingle event before and said what he liked best was, “Getting to meet new people.” He also took advantage of the opportunity to sell and market his products by letting attendees sample his company’s unique sauces.
Kelly McFarland, Community Relations Coordinator at Planet Wellness truly enjoyed the atmosphere and smiling faces of those around her. McFarland said, “I like to talk to other business owners and build relationships. I get to advocate for my business, and I always find what I need from other businesses.”
Mayor Linda Johnson of Suffolk was also in attendance and was excited to be there. She believes that as Suffolk continues to grow, events like this will help the local businesses grow and ensure business owners make necessary connections.
