A group of 95 Hampton Roads residents are back home after traveling on the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce hosted trip to China from September 14-22. Because of the high level of interest in the trip, the Chamber added a second trip from September 15-23. The group enjoyed a nine-day trip, which included memorable sites and unforgettable cultural experiences in Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou and Hangzhou.
Participants learned about the Chinese business system and had the opportunity to attend the World Expo 2010 Shanghai. The more memorable events from the trip included a cruise on West Lake, visiting the Lingering Garden, Tiger Hill, Hanshan Temple, National Embroidary Institute, the Ming Tombs, the Palace Museum, and the Great Wall.
This was the first international trip the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce has hosted, and due to its success, the Chamber is looking to organize another international trip in 2011.
