Jodi S. Gidley, the late president of Virginia Natural Gas, was honored on Monday, Nov. 24 at a ceremony, dedicating the company’s corporate headquarters in her memory. A commemorative plaque was placed outside of the Virginia Beach building paying tribute to Gidley’s leadership and her commitment to Virginia Natural Gas, the community and the state. Virginia State Senator Jeff McWaters presented a framed memorial resolution from the Commonwealth of Virginia. The company also announced the creation of the Jodi S. Gidley Legacy Scholarship at Old Dominion University, where Gidley earned her master’s degree in mechanical engineering. The scholarship recognizes the importance of increasing the engagement and retention of women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. The grant will be awarded annually to a female full-time student who is pursuing an engineering degree and participates in the Engineering Early Advantage Program at Old Dominion University.
