What if people could get an inside look of your business before actually stepping foot inside of it? Gerry Neary owner of Virginia Peninsula Photography and a Google Trusted Photographer demonstrated just that at the Chamber Education Series on Wednesday, November 8th. Neary’s presentation on “How to Grow Your Business with Google Street View”, showed how your business can stand out from other businesses by providing clients and potential customers a virtual way to tour your venue and see what you have to offer.
"The whole idea of Google Street View is to the dangle the steak and not the carrot," said Patrick Neary, business partner of Gerry Neary. “The carrot is a still photo and the steak is the 360-degree view of your business,” explained Patrick Neary.
If looking for ways to grow your business online, Google Street View has certainly proven to be a successful tool. Local businesses like the Virginia Beach Convention Center, Slover Library and iFly have greatly benefited from Google Street View according to Gerry Neary. “Google techs have said it positively impacts your website ranking, which directly correlates with the number of clicks your website receives.”
With so many people looking up information online, it would seem that visuals are a great way to improve viewing traction. To determine that, Google Street View provides detailed analytics showing its users the time of day the visuals were most visited, which days of the week got the most views, the amount of time spent on a certain visual plus more.
Darian Fisher, Banking Officer/ Community Banker with presenting sponsor Southern Bank said, “Gerry gave lots of details on the importance of search engine optimization (SEO). He also explained the importance of panoramic views and how that will boost your search listings.” He also gave credit to the presenters saying, “Professional photographers can play a role in the success of your business.”
As a powerful economic partner, the Hampton Road Chamber continues to provide businesses with various opportunities for growth both on and offline.
