Mr. Stancliff joined the firm in 2007 following a distinguished career in the United States Coast Guard, retiring at the rank of Commander. He is admitted in Virginia, North Carolina and Ohio, and is rated AV® Preeminent™ by Martindale-Hubbell. He is recognized as a proctor in admiralty by the Maritime Law Association of the United States. He is a member of the Virginia Maritime Association, the Propeller Club, and the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute where he has served on the Board of Directors, the Editorial Board, and as the Chairman of its Long Range Planning Committee. Mr. Stancliff received his Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University, a Master of Marine Affairs from the University of Rhode Island, and a B.S. in Marine Engineering from the United States Coast Guard Academy.
