Junior Achievement of Greater Hampton Roads is in need of volunteers to promote financial literacy in two Norfolk high schools, Booker T. Washington High School and Granby High School. Students at each school have spent this academic year learning about finances and financial planning through our JA Finance Park program, and now we need community members to deliver a 90 minute lesson to rekindle students’ knowledge and review what they’ve learned.
Interested, but worried that you don’t have the right qualifications? You do! Volunteers do not need to have a finance background to deliver a session. All volunteers will be provided with a brief training as well as lesson materials prior to delivering their 90 minute lesson. Topics discussed in the lesson include how to become financially independent, how to save, and how to invest. JAGHR has volunteer opportunities throughout the month of May at both schools during the school day (the earliest session starts at 7:25am and the latest session starts at 12:40pm).
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Mirielle McMillin at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (757) 455-9501.
