Fairfield Flowers is a local small business, owned and operated by Charlene and Karl Wesseler since 1991. Fairfield Flowers is open seven days a week, making deliveries to all of the Tidewater area. We specialize in flowers, plants, and gifts for all occasions. Fairfield Flowers is the only florist teaching floral design classes where customers can come in, be provided with all materials needed, and learn how to create a beautiful floral arrangement that they can take home at the end of the class!

When a customer walks into my business they can expect to smell the flowers first. The shop has a wonderful smell that everyone comments on the moment they walk in the door. Then the customers can expect to see a shop filled with trendy gifts, a happy staff who is always happy to help, and the freshest flowers. A customer can expect the five star treatment at Fairfield Flowers because customer service and satisfaction is always our number one priority!
3. What motivated you to join the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce?
Fairfield Flowers joined the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce to be able to reach more people with our flowers. Fairfield Flowers wanted to learn about and support other local businesses! We also wanted to welcome new customers into our Fairfield Flowers family.
4. What accomplisments make you most proud?
Fairfield Flowers has been in Virginia Beach at the same location, 5194 Fairfield Shopping Center, for 25 years. In 2015 Fairfield Flowers was named Retailer of the Year by the Retail Alliance! Fairfield Flower is so honored that Hampton Roads thought that our floral shop is worthy to be named Retailer of the Year!
5. How do you think your Chamber membership will enhance or empower your business?
Fairfield Flowers hopes to gain knowledge from the other talented member of the Chamber of Commerce. We want personal growth as well as new customers. We love to attend classes, luncheons, networking events, and mix and mingles to learn about other businesses and to share our floral knowledge with others.
6. What is the best thing about doing business in Hampton Roads?
The best thing about doing business in Hampton Roads is the customers. They are so loyal a
nd we love our customers. Charlene grew up in Virginia Beach and some customers have known her since high school! We have customers as neighbors and see them at the grocery store!
7. When not working, what do you spend your free time doing in Hampton Roads?
When I am not working I love spending time with my husband and best friend, Karl. My biggest smiles come from my seven grandchildren and spending the day being silly with them! They love coming to the shop and making their own floral arrangements!
8. Share any fun facts, new news, throw backs, historical facts, or unique aspects of your business.
Charlene is a certified floral designer and she can help you send the perfect arrangement and gift to compliment it! Floral arranging is an art with endless possibilities! Roses are the most popular flowers purchased. The newest trends in flowers are the unique colors and styles, like a green Kermit, a chocolate Cosmo, and black Calla Lilies. Funerals and weddings are 30% of our floral business and corporate accounts are 20%.
9. What is your favorite App and why?
My favorite app to use is the Loveva app. I think it is a wonderful way for businesses to get new customers and a great way for customers to earn rewards just for shopping! I also love to use Facebook! I love keeping up with friends and family, near and far, and Facebook is an easy way to keep in touch!
