In July of 2015, Tracy Link, President of Integrity Security Services spent her weekday afternoons teaching the children of the East End of Newport News about Stranger Danger, Pedestrian Safety and the dangers of playing around railroad tracks at the Portsmouth Police Department's Safety Town. This program allowed the children to interact with real police officers in a positive way, while also teaching them skills for their personal safety. The children were participating in the Summer Program for Activities, Recreation and Knowledge, SPARK for short. This inaugural program won the National School Boards Association Magna award for innovation to keep children learning, all summer long. Ms. Link connected the SPARK program to Safety Town by working with the Police Chiefs in both cities. She then volunteered to teach all the classes. They were able to impart these valuable lessons to over 350 children. On Tuesday, March 8, 2016 Newport News Public Schools honored their partners, including Safety Town and Integrity Security with a breakfast at the Newport News City Center Marriott and presented them with plaques and a full page ad in the Daily Press.
