Plunging into the icy Atlantic ocean to save a man from drowning, stepping into the path of gunfire, taking down a known gang leader. These aren't episodes of primetime dramas, these are just some of the actions of local Hampton Roads first responders that have occurred in the last 12 months. Thousands of men and women in uniform put their lives on the line every day when they go to work here in Hampton Roads. The Hampton Roads Chamber is honored to present the Valor Awards to recognize first responders who went above and beyond the call of duty over the last year.
