Virginia Beach, Va. – Hypnosis has been used as a method of therapy for decades, helping individuals overcome life challenges like eating disorders, PTSD, inner child issues, substance abuse, and more. Those who work as hypnotherapists, and those who have undergone hypnotherapy, understand the deep state of consciousness they enter as they work to understand and treat these problems and ailments. Advanced training in hypnosis techniques is devised to give you the skills to help both you and others achieve deep and lasting positive change. These important techniques include powerful rapid inductions, emergency hypnosis, implementing group therapies to enhance your practice treatment options, and how to maintain deep trance state no matter the environment or clients’ skepticism. Individuals who have prior certification in hypnosis are invited to join Dr. Jason Parker at the A.R.E. August 14-16, 2015, for the Advanced Hypnosis Techniques Certification: Creating Lasting Change conference.
Jason Parker, PhD, MHt, is a former researcher at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and has worked in the field of education for more than 30 years. Currently, Dr. Parker serves as a senior lecturer of psychology for Old Dominion University (ODU) where he was awarded the ODU College of Sciences Distinguished Teaching Award for 2014-2015, and serves as the executive director of the Bayside Behavioral Center. In addition to his teaching endeavors, Dr. Parker helped to found the hypnotherapy services offered through the A.R.E. Health Center and Spa, where he served as a staff therapist for more than 10 years. He is trained in hypnosis, releasement, and regression techniques, and is a 20-year member of the National Guild of Hypnotists.
Participants of the Advanced Hypnosis Techniques Certification: Creating Lasting Change conference will act as both client and therapist to study and practice in-depth methods for aiding clients to overcome life challenges. This intensive, fast-paced course will include lectures, experiential exercises, small group work, individual and group inductions, insights from the Edgar Cayce readings, a Q&A, and case examples from Dr. Parker’s years as a therapist. This class is open to hypnotherapists of all levels (proof of prior certification in hypnosis is required). Advanced registration for this event is encouraged, and individuals who register in advance will save $20 off the cost of at-door admission. The advance registration price for this 3-day intensive for A.R.E. members and seniors over 62 is $527, for all non-members under the age of 62, the program will be $567. Edgar Cayce founded the non-profit Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.) in 1931, to explore spirituality, holistic health, intuition, dream interpretation, psychic development, reincarnation, and ancient mysteries—all subjects that frequently came up in the more than 14,000 documented psychic readings given by Cayce, who died in 1945. The mission of A.R.E. is simply to help people around the world change their lives for the better through the ideas and information found in the Cayce readings. The Virginia Beach headquarters is a popular site for locals and tourists with free daily lectures, a Health Center & Spa, the Cayce/Reilly® School of Massage, an extensive metaphysical library, a meditation garden, a stone labyrinth, and a bookstore and gift shop. Visitors from around the world come to experience conferences featuring speakers on subjects like ancient mysteries, holistic health, and spiritual development. The campus is also home to Atlantic University (AU), which offers two masters degrees (Transpersonal Studies and Leadership Studies) through an online platform, as well as continuing education and certificate programs. Through A.R.E.’s many programs, services, publications, and membership outreach, individuals from all walks of life and religious backgrounds are provided with tools for personal transformation and healing at all levels—body, mind, and spirit.
