Life-sized board games might be something seen in a movie, but on August 2, the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame & Museum will replicate classic board games and make them life-sized. Games like checkers, Candy Land, and Jenga will be at least ten times their normal size. A live family game show will be held where there will be plenty of opportunity for prizes. Accompanying the games will be a showing of the Disney film “Wreck-it Ralph,” an animated film about video game characters that come to life after the arcade closes at night. The film is sponsored by Grove Baptist Church in Portsmouth. Admission to the event is $10, $7 for active military and their dependents, and $6 for members.
