Colliers International is pleased to announce that Assembly, the iconic new home of inspiring creators and technology innovators in downtown Norfolk, has attracted three new tenants: RISE, Lynch Mykins, and Istoria. The three tenants leased a combined total of more than 6,100 square feet, bringing the project to over 80% leased with about three months of construction remaining in the development’s first phase. Only 5,000 square feet of office space remains available for lease, in addition to a limited quantity of desks that will be made available in a collaborative work area.
The three new Assembly tenants are:
• Lynch Mykins, among the largest female-owned structural engineering firms in the country, providing structural engineering services in more than 40 states. The firm is headquartered in Raleigh, N.C., with current offices in Virginia Beach and Richmond, Va. They are known for their creativity, collaborative processes, and integrated design.
• RISE, a non-profit with a mission to accelerate innovation and business growth around solutions to coastal communities’ resilience challenges. The organization leverages local assets and global networks to enable businesses to develop, demonstrate, and scale innovations that help coastal communities adapt to changing climate.
• Istoria, a digital creative studio. They create story-focused video, photo, and web experiences for brands that make the world a better place.
“We are thrilled to welcome Lynch Mykins, RISE, and Istoria to the Assembly community,” said Drew Ungvarsky, founder and CEO of both Assembly and Grow. “Each of these companies supports our vision to create a beacon for the region’s future industries in creativity and innovation. We’re excited to continue to attract market-leading organizations that fit the Assembly ethos.”
Anna Lynch, CEO of Lynch Mykins said, "Health and wellness are one of our cultural priorities so walkability downtown, the open-air outdoor rooftop workspace, and world-class amenities are exactly what we were looking for." Dave Mykins, president of Lynch Mykins, added, "We have a 40-year legacy in the Norfolk area and selected the iconic Assembly because of its ability to curate a community of like-minded creatives and collaborators all in one space.”
Dr. Paul Robinson, executive director of RISE, commented, “RISE is working to fund and accelerate the business growth of innovative companies addressing the global resilience challenges of coastal communities. We’re excited to contribute to the vibrant community of world-class companies Assembly promises to bring together.”
Other previously announced tenants for Assembly include Grow, Work Program Architects, 757 Startup Studios (affiliated with 757 Accelerate and 757 Angels), Ario, and Have a Good Day (formerly Simon Studios).
Mac Weaver, vice president with Colliers International, is leading the leasing efforts.
