Discussion Panel will Include Representatives from All Local Healthcare Providers
NORFOLK, VA — The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Hampton Roads Business Brief on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from 8:00-9:30am at the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel (777 Waterside Drive). A regionally focused event, the Hampton Roads Business Brief focuses on a different key element in our economy.
This year's event will feature a panel representing the delivery system side of healthcare. The panel includes: Thomas Prevette, Director of Advocacy and Community Relations at Bon Secours Health System Hampton Roads; Wynn Dixon, Chesapeake Regional Medical Center; James D. Dahling, CEO, Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters; James F. Lind, Jr., CEO of Eastern Virginia Medical School Health Services; and Michael V. Gentry, FAHCE, Corporate Vice President, Southside Hospitals, Sentara Healthcare. Panel members will share what their companies are doing to prepare for the changes that are mandated by the new healthcare law and what the implications are to the local business community. This event will give attendees a better picture of how the health care delivery system drives the economy.
Last year, Congressman Randy Forbes (4th Congressional District), Chairman of the House Armed Services Readiness Committee, provided the business community with insight on the status and future of military assets in Hampton Roads; in 2010, we drilled down on the state of the economy from the national picture to the local indicators with a national economist; and in 2009, the Port and its rich resources was the focus with a program presented by the Virginia Port Authority.
The Chamber thanks Presenting Sponsor Bank of America. The event, which includes breakfast, is $40 for Chamber members and $55 for prospective members. To register, go to Events.HamptonRoadsChamber.com or call 757-622-2312.
