Through several mergers, consolidations and a name change, 360IT PARTNERS today is legally

TOMAR Computer Integration, Inc. T/A 360IT PARTNERS.  Formed in 1995, TOMAR Computer Integration, formerly known as TOMAR Computer Station, consolidated retail stores and moved operations to the current location in Virginia Beach, VA.  Our clients are small and medium businesses in the Hampton Roads region including manufacturing, ship building and repair, distribution, transportation, health care, insurance, financial, government contractors, and services industries.

In February of 2005, CompuGeek, LLC merged with TOMAR Computer Integration, Inc.  CompuGeek’s primary focus was small office/home office customers with 1-5 computers on a network, while TOMAR’s focus was small and medium businesses with 5-50 computers on a network. This merger enabled both companies to pool their resources of talent to enhance the level of service and product offerings to customers.

In 2008, TOMAR Computer Integration shifted the business model from marketing to businesses from a “break fix” type of service, where technical issues were addressed as they affected the network or computer; we switched to a more proactive “managed services” model where routine service and updates were performed to prevent failures.

TOMAR Computer Integration, Inc. officially started trade under the 360IT PARTNERS name in June 2010. The new company name was a reflection of what the company had become. The 360 degree symbol signifies the company’s well rounded approach to Information Technology solutions and support. The word PARTNERS goes beyond the two employees that have been partnered into the company (Aaron Frketich, Vice President and Jasmin Rebultan, Treasurer). It extends to clients, vendors, and our commitment to the Hampton Roads community.

What products or services do you offer companies or individuals?

As our name suggests, 360IT PARTNERS offers a full circle approach to delivering computer & technology products and services to our clients.  We become be a single vendor go to resource for our clients who count on us for delivering network cabling, Internet and voice dial tone, VoIP phone services, file servers and workstations, web development, backup and disaster recovery, cloud hosting, IT staff augmentation, and a managed service platform that allows us to proactively support our clients network remotely to maintain maximum uptime and reliability.  

What are the greatest obstacles and/or challenges that your business has faced?  How have you and your business overcome them?  

In 2008, during the height of the economic recession 360IT PARTNERS decided to move its business model from a “break-fix” provider to a ”managed services” provider delivering fixed monthly pricing IT services to our clients.  It was a difficult task to make the transition as clients have been accustomed to our previous delivery method since 1995.  By explaining the difference in being proactive verses reactive by installing software tools on their networks to performing critical patch management, system monitoring, optimization, and remote help desk support, we are able to keep their networks running at peak efficiency and maintain critical uptime.  When our clients are down, they are losing productivity and it is a major expense when employees can’t work.  Thankfully, our clients were able to see the importance of this change and stood by us.

As far as the recession, we doubled our marketing efforts, kept our chins up by staying positive, and ignored the negative press.  We decided not to participate in the recession.  For the first time in our company’s history, we posted a minor loss in 2008 and have grown an average of 20% year after year ever since.    

What accomplishments are your most proud of?

Being named the 2013 Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year for the entire region of Hampton Roads tops the list.  The Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year is the most coveted award a small business can receive.  The recognition from peers, clients, vendors, and friends has been overwhelming.  Our entire staff is very proud and it has helped in our internal growth and company culture to strive in having fun while delivering excellence.  We were also named to the 2013 Virginia State Chamber of Commerce FANTASTIC 50 (the 50 fastest growing privately held companies in Virginia), and made the 2013 Inc. 5000 (fastest growing privately held companies in the US) list as well.  It has been a great ride.

What do you see for the future of your business?

Technology changes daily.  It is such an exciting industry to be immersed in and ever more difficult to keep up with so many new disciplines and emerging technologies.  With cybercrime becoming rampant and over 2 million new threats being released every month, I foresee the need for business to invest more in protecting their network perimeter by protecting themselves from data breaches, hackers, and pishing scams.  Our company will play a critical role by recommending best practices to keep them from becoming victimized, and emphasizing both education and investment in security technology. 

Why are you a member of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce?

We have the biggest “little city” in the world here in Hampton Roads.  You are really only one or two degrees of separation from anyone in our business community and being a member of the Chamber literally brings everyone together. We have only been a member of the Chamber of Commerce for the past 2 years.  I regret not becoming a member sooner as I have had so much fun in meeting member businesses at different events like the Mega Monster Mixer and Beach Bash.  The learning events and speakers are excellent and I always leave with at least one or two take a ways.  Recently becoming a member of the Chamber’s Virginia Beach Division Board of Directors, I now see the vital role our Chamber plays in helping to grow our local economy by bringing business together, and helping shape legislation in Richmond to make it easier to do business here in Hampton Roads.  This helps to attract new businesses to our great region.  The Chamber plays a vital role in the community, as a business person your support and participation helps everyone.
