CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Even monsoon-like conditions couldn’t keep loved ones – or our cameras - away from the pier for the return of 341 sailors aboard the USS Winston Churchill. Witness the emotional return of one of the US Navy’s missile destroyers along with the deployment of the USS Kearsarge, the first-ever deployment of the USS Arlington and highlights from the 2015 USO Warrior Week event at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront on episode 601 of Homecoming: A Cox Video Diary this Friday, February 26, 2016. Homecoming will air on Cox locally produced channels in Hampton Roads, Roanoke, Fredericksburg and Northern Virginia.
The Creative Services team at Cox Communicationscaptures snapshots of reuniting local military personnel with their loved ones here at home for the Homecoming series. Cox cameras are there at the docks, on the flight line, and at the base to capture the moments of return as some of the major recent deployments of local servicemen and women come to an end. Through emotional images and interviews captured on site, Homecoming documents the stories of commitment, sacrifice, longing and joy that are connected to the long separations and missions overseas by these individuals and their families.
This is the 6th season of the Homecoming series on Cox. Homecoming airs Fridays at 6:00 p.m. with re-broadcasts throughout the week on Cox channel 11 (1011 HD). To view past episodes, please visit Cox11.com and click on Homecoming under the “shows” tab.
