Portsmouth, Virginia - December, 17 2015 - Multi Harley-Davidson dealership owner, Maurice Slaughter, was named in Governor Terry McAuliffe's recent announcement of additional appointments to his Administration. Slaughter was noted as Secretariat of the Commonwealth Board Appointment to the Motor Vehicle Dealer Board. Slaughter will join McAuliffe's Administration in finding common ground on issues that will build a new Virginia economy and create more jobs across the Commonwealth by serving on the Board 2016-2020.
Maurice Slaughter has been the Chairman and CEO of Bayside Harley-Davidson, Outer Banks Harley-Davidson, and Nags Head Harley-Davidson since 1998. The group of dealerships does business as MS Family, Inc. out of Portsmouth, Virginia. Virginia's Motor Vehicle Dealer Board (MVDB) is a state agency charged with the regulation and oversight of the new and used car and truck dealer industry. The Board also oversees the licensing and regulatory responsibility for recreational vehicles, motorcycles, and trailer dealers from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to MVDB. The diversity of Board Appointments creates a cross section to ensure all perspectives of the industry have a voice on the Board.
