Portsmouth, Va. – Elizabeth River Crossings awarded eight graduating seniors from Portsmouth and Norfolk public schools its annual Good Citizen Scholarship.

The Good Citizen Scholarship commends and rewards students who consistently reflect excellence in character and demonstrate leadership skills by making positive contributions to their school and community. This year’s winners were participants and/or leaders in activities and organizations such as Chorus, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Girl Scouts, Model UN, National Honor Society, ROTC, STEM Programs, Student Council, Varsity Sports, and more. Winners were also dedicated volunteers at churches, hospitals, schools, and other civic and community organizations.

Each will receive $6,000 across four years dispersed in equal $1,500 increments. The scholarship can be applied to tuition and costs at any college, trade school or post-secondary institution, with proof of enrollment.

“These focused and driven students represent the very best of Hampton Roads and Elizabeth River Crossings is proud to support the future leaders and role models of our communities. We wish them all good luck as they pursue their dreams and carry our hopes with them,” said CEO Doug Wilson.
