Nine new community partners in Florida, New Jersey, and South Carolina

Saint Leo University has announced professional working agreements with nine new community partners in Florida, New Jersey, and South Carolina. The Avis Budget Group Inc., which has a large call center in Virginia Beach, is one of Saint Leo’s newest partners.

Partner companies employees receive certain benefits to help them continue their education, including discounted tuition and application fee waivers.

We are pleased to welcome these new community partners who will work collaboratively with Saint Leo University’s said Dr. Beth Carter, associate vice president, Division of Continuing Education, Saint Leo University. It’s essential to cultivate new relationships with external organizations for the university, and aids in building a stronger sense of community and independence for our students and graduates.

The nine new organizations include:

Avis Budget Group, Inc.

Founded in 1948, Avis Budget Group is an American car rental company headquartered in Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ. The Avis Budget brand operates in North America, Latin America, the Caribbean, India, Australia, and New Zealand. It has approximately 30,000 employees. (

AMIkids Tampa

Founded in 1971, AMIkids Tampa is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to helping youth develop into responsible and productive citizens. Its mission is to protect public safety and positively impact as many youth as possible through the efforts of a diverse and innovative staff. AMIkids works in partnership with youth agencies, local communities, and families. The facility employs more than 200 employees. (

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, Inc.

Big Brothers Big Sisters provides children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported, one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better. The organization serves Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, and Sumter counties. It has approximately 40 employees. (

Leesburg Area Chamber of Commerce

Located in Leesburg, FL, the Leesburg Area Chamber of Commerce began in 1937. It provides the business community a way to develop strong relationships and feel empowered through communication. (  It has more than 375 members.

Leon County Sheriff’s Office

The Leon County Sheriff’s Office is located in Tallahassee, FL. The Uniform Patrol Bureau consists of 613 employees, who provide law enforcement services to a 702- square mile area. (

PrimeGroup Insurance Services, Inc.

Founded in 1999, PrimeGroup Insurance, Services, Inc., with headquarters in Tampa, is a commercial insurance, employee benefits and personal insurance agency. It is one of the fastest growing full-service insurance agencies in the Southeast with a staff of 180.  (

Saddlebrook Resort

Opened in 1981, the 480-acre Saddlebrook Resort in Wesley Chapel, FL, north of Tampa, has continued to flourish, becoming an acclaimed destination for conferences and events as well as a nationally recognized training center for golf and tennis. It has approximately 650 employees.  (

Sumter County Sheriff’s Office

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for protecting and serving the citizens of Sumter County, SC. The agency is committed to providing professional services to reduce crime. The office employs a staff of 143 dedicated men and women. (

Tampa Bay Steel Corp.

Founded in 1980 by Buck and Eleanor McInnis, Tampa Bay Steel is one of Florida's major steel distribution and metal processing sources, stocking a vast inventory of all sizes, types and grades of metals. Tampa Steel has a staff of 115 employees.  (
