NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Learning how to take care of yourself while leading a busy work and family life is essential. Saint Leo University is presenting a workplace seminar, “Chill Out: Taking Care of Business, Taking Care of Me,” from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 14.
The session, led by Dr. Carletta Perry and Dr. Maureen Mathews, both assistant professors of psychology, will be held at the Newport News Education Center, One BayPort Way (formerly Compass Way), Suite 160, Newport News, VA 23606. Check-in begins promptly at 8:15 a.m.
Workplace wellness is any health promotion activity or organizational policy designed to support healthy behavior on the job and to improve an employee’s overall health.
The Saint Leo seminar is designed to provide a better understanding of the following:
● Learn how workplace wellness can help your business make simple, affordable changes to improve employee health, staff retention, and the bottom line—productivity;
● Explore ways to create work-life balance; identify common stressors in the workplace, and discuss effective communication strategies; and
● Discover various stress reduction techniques and improve overall wellness.
